You will be required to provide your full name, complete address, age, telephone number and email address in the entry form. You must complete all required information to be eligible to enter.  Entries that include an invalid email address or inaccurate contact information will be disqualified.  Sponsor’s designated computer clock will be the timekeeping device controlling the Sweepstakes Period.  Residents of Puerto Rico may also enter the Sweepstakes by completing and depositing an official entry form or 3" x 5" piece of paper with their full name, complete address, age, telephone number and (optional) email address during regular business hours in the Sweepstakes official ballot box located at AARP’s offices at 654 Ave. Luis Muńoz Rivera, Suite 901, San Juan, PR 00918, telephone 1-866-542-8169.   Please call to confirm office hours and holiday schedules of operation.

Limit:  Maximum one (1) entry per person and per email address/physical mailing address during the Sweepstakes Period (regardless of method of entry).

All incomplete, lost, late, misdirected, or illegible entries and all entries submitted by software-generated or other automated processes will be void.  All entries become property of AARP and none will be returned or individually acknowledged.  AARP will not be responsible for failure to receive or record entries due to human processing errors or transmission or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, the malfunctioning of any website, computer dating system, network, hardware or software.  All decisions of AARP regarding the eligibility of participants and the validity of entries shall be final and binding.  In the event of a dispute regarding online entries, the applicable online entry will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the email account associated with the email address identified on the online entry form.  For these purposes, an email account owner shall mean the natural person assigned to such account by the Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with such account. Sponsor is also not responsible for any injury or damage to any entrant’s or any other person’s computer related to or resulting from downloading any materials in the Sweepstakes.  CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATIONS OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, THE SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH ENTRANT TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

4. WHAT CAN I WIN?  One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded by a random drawing in the Sweepstakes, as follows:

Grand Prize:  One (1) Grand Prize Winner will receive a trip to New York, NY for Grand Prize Winner and one (1) guest 21 years of age or older, to see the new bilingual revival of the musical “West Side Story” before the month of May 2009 on a date selected by Sponsor in its sole discretion.  Grand Prize package includes: (i) round trip coach/economy class airfare for two (2) from the major U.S. airport (including Puerto Rico) nearest to winner’s home to New York, NY; (ii) round-trip ground transportation from the airport to the hotel in New York, NY; (iii) hotel accommodations (one standard room, double occupancy; hotel tax included) for two (2) nights in New York, NY; (iv) two (2) tickets to the bilingual revival of “West Side Story;” (v) round trip ground transportation for two (2) from the hotel to the theater; and (vi) a meal allowance of up to $125 per day, for two days for the Winner and his or her guest.  Grand Prize Winner and his or her guest must travel on an identical itinerary on the dates and airline carrier designated by Sponsor and are responsible for all expenses not specifically described above, including, without limitation, airport charges on luggage, travel insurance, tips, room service, telephone charges and other incidentals. The Grand Prize package has a total approximate retail value (ARV) of $2,700, which may vary depending on location of major airport nearest to winner’s home, travel itinerary, and costs of air transportation at time of award.  All prize-related arrangements and accommodations will be made at Sponsor’s sole discretion.  Sponsor will not be liable for any expenses incurred as a consequence of flight cancellations or delays. Sponsor will not be liable in the event that the “West Side Story” performance is cancelled or delayed and in such an event, Sponsor will only award the remaining elements of the Grand Prize package, without the theater tickets, in full satisfaction of the Grand Prize, with no further substitutions or reimbursement to Winner.  Sponsor will not replace any lost or stolen prizes or prize components.  Winner will forfeit prize in its entirety if he/she cannot travel on the dates designated by Sponsor. Winner is responsible for all required travel documents.

Grand Prize Winner may waive his or her right to receive the Grand Prize.  Prize is not assignable or transferable, except in accordance with these Official Rules.  No cash or other substitutions allowed by Grand Prize Winner.  Grand Prize and individual components of Grand Prize package are subject to availability and AARP reserves the right to substitute any prize or prize components with a prize or components of equal or greater value.  Grand Prize Winner is solely responsible for payment of any taxes on prizes.

Release and Limitations of Liability: By entering the Sweepstakes, entrants acknowledge and agree that Sponsor makes no representations or warranties, express or implied, regarding the Grand Prize and will not be responsible for any claims, losses, or injuries arising out of the Grand Prize Winner’s and/or his or her guest’s acceptance or use of the Grand Prize. Except where prohibited, acceptance of the Grand Prize constitutes Grand Prize Winner’s consent to the Sponsor’s publication of his or her name, biographical information and likeness in any media for any publicity, promotional or commercial purpose, without limitation or additional compensation.

Grand Prize Winner will be required to complete an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release (except where prohibited by law), which must be executed and returned to Sponsor by February 9, 2009; however, if Grand Prize Winner is a Puerto Rico resident, he or she shall have thirty (30) days from receipt of Sponsor’s notification (sent by certified mail return receipt requested or overnight traceable mail with delivery confirmation) to sign and return the affidavit and release.  Failure to timely sign and return the affidavit or release, or to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules, may result in a winner’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the Grand Prize, and the award of the Grand Prize to a substitute winner randomly selected from among the remaining eligible entries received.  Except where prohibited, the Grand Prize Winner’s travel companion must also sign any release that AARP may require before airline tickets or other components of the Grand Prize travel package will be awarded.

5. HOW WILL WINNERS BE SELECTED?  Winner will be selected in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received, which will be conducted by AARP, on or about February 2, 2009 in Washington, D.C.  Award of a prize to any winner will be subject to verification of that winner’s eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules.

6. WHAT ARE MY CHANCES OF WINNING?  The odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received.  All entries have an equal chance of winning.

7. WHEN WILL I BE NOTIFIED IF I WON?  Grand Prize Winner will be notified by telephone and/or U.S. Mail on or about February 2, 2009.  A Winner residing in Puerto Rico (as of the time of entry into the Sweepstakes) will be notified by certified mail (return receipt requested or overnight traceable mail with delivery confirmation) and will have thirty (30) days to claim his or her prize from receipt of notification.  The return of any prize notification message or document as undeliverable will result in disqualification of the applicable winner, the forfeiture of his or her interest in the Grand Prize and the selection of a substitute winner from among all remaining eligible entries.

8. WHO IS THE SPONSOR? The Sweepstakes is sponsored by AARP, 601 E Street, N.W., Washington DC, 20049. All decisions of Sponsor and the Sweepstakes judges selected by AARP regarding the Sweepstakes and the interpretation of these Official rules will be final and binding on entrants in all respects.  Sponsor will not be responsible for typographical, printing or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in other materials or announcements relating to the Sweepstakes.  AARP reserves the right in its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Sweepstakes if the fairness, security or proper operation of the promotion is compromised by a virus, errors, unauthorized human intervention, tampering or any cause beyond the reasonable control of AARP.  Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated expiration date, AARP reserves the right to award the Grand Prize from among the eligible entries received before the termination date.  AARP also reserves the right to disqualify any persons determined to be tampering with the entry process or abusing any other aspect of the Sweepstakes.
