3.
What year did the Latin Grammy Awards debut?

Correct answer: c. 2000

With Latin music encompassing such diverse genres as ranchera, tropical, alternative rock, pop, urban, and jazz—and with recordings in English, Spanish, and Portuguese—the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences established the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences in 1997. The Latin Grammys differ from the Grammy Awards in two important ways: membership in the Latin Academy is international, and recordings issued both inside and outside the United States are eligible for awards.
