Learn About Credit—Now in Spanish
Easy credit is seductive…dangerously seductive,
as anyone buried in debt can tell you. But now you can learn how to
resist temptation and build a solid credit rating.
Financial institution Freddie Mac—along with
seven prominent Hispanic organizations—has developed CreditSmart
español, a bilingual, classroom-based course to teach interested
Hispanic consumers how to achieve and maintain good credit.
The eight- to 10-hour course covers topics including
understanding your credit score, thinking like a lender, avoiding credit
traps, and restoring your credit. The curriculum can be tailored to
audiences of different ages, since young people, baby boomers, and seniors
have different needs and concerns.
Courses will be offered by mortgage lenders throughout
the United States. Those unable to attend can read a condensed version
of the materials on the Freddie Mac website.
Fannie
Mae also offers a free credit guide in Spanish that you can download.
