Latino & Latina World War II Oral History Project

The Latino & Latina World War II Oral History Project at the University of Texas at Austin is looking for Hispanics from the following groups to contribute their stories

  • Puerto Rican WWII Vets, including those stationed in Tortugero, and those guarding outposts in the Caribbean
  • Men who married foreign War Brides
  • Rangers
  • Those who served in Military Intelligence
  • Women who worked at defense plants or military installations
  • Women who worked in mines in the New Mexico/Arizona area
  • Women who went to Washington, DC to work for the Civil Service
  • War Brides from other countries
  • Puerto Ricans who lived in New York City: vets, men who were not in the services and women
