5 Tips for Picking the School and Finding
the Money
1
Steer clear of institutions that promise "a
college degree in 28 days" or that you can "get your diploma
now."
2
Make sure your chosen institution is accredited
by one of the following regional accrediting bodies:
- Middle State Association of Colleges
and Schools
- New England Association of Schools and
Colleges
- North Central Association of Colleges
and Schools
- Northwest Association of Schools and
Colleges
- Southern Association of Colleges and
Schools
- Western Association of Schools and Colleges
3
Make sure credits are transferable if you're planning to go
from a community or technical college to a university.
4
Research companies or organizations offering loans or scholarships.
Legitimate companies never guarantee or promise scholarships.
5
Don't give your credit card or bank account number to "hold" a
scholarship.
